Hosting.com has been in business since 1997, providing the world with shared hosting, reseller hosting, dedicated hosting, hybrid hosting, cloud hosting, and collocation services.
Over the years, Hosting.com has spread their covered across multiple countries by implementing datacenters all around the world. However, there is a reason that they do need to get reviewed, and you’re about to find out why.
Price Value
Since Hosting.com offers a wide array of hosting solutions, I’m going to be reviewing their Linux shared hosting.
Starting at $12.99 per month, Hosting.com offers some of the most expensive hosting solutions in the industry. They do back your purchase with a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you don’t like what they have to offer, you can request a refund as long as it’s within thirty days of your purchase.
Is this a good deal? I don’t think it is since there are many hosts here who offer better webhosting plans at cheaper prices.
Features
Let’s see if the features over at Hosting.com can justify the more expensive prices that they tag their hosting plans with.
- 20 GB Disk Space
- 500 GB of Data Transfer Per Month
- 500 POP3 Email Addresses
- 100% Network Uptime Guarantee
- If you purchase annually, get a free domain name.
Wow! These guys really know how to skimp on the features, considering even the affordable hosts reviewed here offer way more for a much more affordable cost.
Performance
Hosting.com isn’t very open when it comes to informing their customers of the performance level of their servers. All they do is say that they offer a great network, but every host can say that if you really want to go there. From consumer reviews, the performance at Hosting.com seems to suck.
Reliability
Hosting.com shared plans come with a 100% network uptime guarantee. While this may seem great, the reviews of Hosting.com are very few, but almost everyone states that the customer had trouble with downtime when they trusted these folks to fulfill their web hosting needs.
I don’t know about you, but I value the opinions of others when it comes to something critical like this. Especially when they have had to go through it already and I haven’t.
Support
Hosting.com provides around-the-clock support via telephone, live chat, and e-mail. If you’re looking for a host who has support that speaks fluent English though, Hosting.com may not be the one as they love to outsource to countries where most can’t even grasp the English language.
I would have to say that their support needs a little bit of improvement if they have any hopes of outdoing some of the top hosts featured here on Web Hosting Break.
Love Factor
I’m really skeptical about the folks over at Hosting.com, they just don’t have much of a reputation among consumers and when I start digging into their web hosting, it really starts to scare me when I see that they really are overpriced while skimping on the web hosting features.
My advice when it comes to Hosting.com is to please check into another host, I’m sure there’s a better deal for you somewhere else.

I been with these guys…
I been with these guys for a long time but ever since they switched to hosting.com it has sucked. The support and hosting have both went down the drain. When my dedicated server go down (it happens constantly) they point the finger somewhere else and won’t even help me to get it back online. Inexperienced staff and the worst deal as far as pricing. You pay FOR MORE than what they will even give you. For the price you would think it’s the best but dont let them fool you into thinking that. I suggest that you find a server somewhere besides hosting.com.
At the time of writing this they havent responded to my tickets anymore.
