Hey Alex! :) I'm all for gettin' free stuff but I have a habit of keeping all my domains separate from hosts. All mine are at eNOM except for a couple at GoDaddy. GoDaddy's great for SSL Certificates too btw... I'd just go ahead and register both at GoDaddy. Plus that domain is just free for the first year at Fatcow, then $14.95/year after... but domains at GoDaddy are cheaper. :)

Hi Ian,

I'm looking to set up a couple of sites via WordPress. Anyway, I'm looking to register domains on GoDaddy, just because they're probably the largest domain registration site.

I've been looking around for other hosting companies and seems like FatCow is a great option.

I'm just wondering if you recommend registering one of the domains on GoDaddy and register the other one using FatCow's free domain service. Or registering both on GoDaddy?

Gerald, thanks for sharing this important info. I've heard of this happening to people using GoDaddy and many other registrars too. I wonder if it's from keyloggers?

I went to log into my control panel just to find out that I couldn’t gain access. I called customer service and they asked me to confirm the answer to my secret question. I answered and they told me that it was wrong. I was then informed that the account was no longer under my name and that my debit card was no longer affiliated with the account. I called the fraud department and was told that “being that the owner of the account was no longer me that I had to ask the new owner (the thief) permission to have my domain back. They didn’t even ask the person my secret question. They said that the person knew my last four digits of my debit card and that was enough. I didn’t even get an email to confirm the change of ownership which I didn’t approve. I have several websites being hosted by them and I am changing hosts. I am very disappointed.

Don't Trust FATCOW!!!! They aren't SECURE!!
